As a Capital Controller you are responsible for administering the allocation of capital.

You are able to view, edit and approve all Initiatives at any Stage. The Controller is normally set-up as an Administrator to facilitate the entire process.

Capex Controller responsibilities:

  • Opening new budget versions.

  • Maintaining planned budget allocation by Area.

  • Approving Portfolio Requests submitted by Area.

  • Completing the Budget version (and triggering the transition of investment proposals to the business case stage).

  • Completing a Project.

Open a New Budget Version

A new budget version is required once the previous version is closed.

The top-down Budget allocations maintained here are referenced by the Area sponsors when preparing the project Portfolios.

Portfolio Approval

Approve Portfolio Request and Complete Budget Version.

Complete a Project

Complete an initiative when done. This will transition the initiative to the Active phase after approval by the Area Manager (Manager Completion Review status) and Sponsor (Sponsor Completion Review status). The Administrator can assign a Fixed Asset ID once completion is approved by the Area Manager and Sponsor.
