Impact Analytics involves a thorough assessment of both quantitative and qualitative factors related to a capital investment which Stratex facilitates in its ‘Impact Analytics’ report. The budget version can be used to analyze the future impact of a project portfolio. This document details the features within the impact analytics tab from a general standpoint.
Initiatives must have a financial analysis attached to be included in the impact analysis report.
Key Concepts
Stratex includes various dimensions and key figures in the impact analysis. Each respective option can help formulate strategic plans and monitor strategic alignment at any time.
Impact Analytics key figures include:
Investment Costs: Nominal Capex and Opex amounts.
Return: Return Inflow (eg revenue or savings), Return Outflow (e.g. operating costs).
Cash movements: Inflows (e.g. increases in loans) and Outflows (e.g. down-payments) that impact cashflow but not the financial result.
Depreciation, Interest and Taxation
Calculated summaries: EBITDA, EBIT, Net Profit.
Cashflow and discounted cashflow.
Impact Analytics dimensions include:
Investment Reasons: Reasons driving the investment decisions.
Stage: Indicates the stage of each initiative (Idea, proposal, business case, project).
Status: Current status of each initiative.
Area/Segment: Categorizes initiatives based on their designated area or segment.
Asset Type: Classifies initiatives by type of asset.
Company: Legal entity.
Budget Version: Impact of a particular years' project portfolio.
Time dimensions:
Year
Period (and derived summaries e.g. quarter)
You can report in either local or group currency.
The impact analysis report is restricted to initiatives that you are authorised to view.
Instructions
Navigate to View>Impact Analysis and then selecting your focus area will create a pivot table with relevant initiatives.
Access and Setup: Navigate to 'View > Impact Analysis' and select your desired reporting currency (either local or group).
Configure Pivot Table: Create a pivot table with relevant fields to conduct impact analysis. Use the 'Fields' button to add necessary parameters across four areas.
Charting and Data Analysis: Utilize various chart types (Bar, Line, Pie, etc.) and raw data tables to identify trends and patterns. Choose the most suitable visualization based on input variables and data areas.
Enhance Effectiveness: Adjust the pivot table settings to optimize chart effectiveness and conduct thorough analysis accordingly.
Export Data: Export raw data tables as Excel files or CSVs for further external analysis if needed.
Save Layout: Save your layout for future reporting. Administrators can also save global layouts that all users can access.
Each chart is highly configurable with 5 chart types available for Impact Analytics
You can filter the list of initiatives based on whether the selected area is the benefiting area or the sponsoring area, by toggling between the two options.
Users can enable or disable row subtotals using the "View Row Subtotals" checkbox.
