Parameters Overview
The parameters page
Parameter Name: Name of parameter that can be implemented by standard users when forming a financial analysis (should be evident what the parameter is to be used for).
Type: Decimal (usually a monetary value), integer (usually a unit value), and date.
Value: A number that is either a decimal or integer, otherwise a calendar will appear which a date can then be derived from.
Types of Parameters
Decimal: The decimal parameter is beneficial for setting financial parameters e.g. reoccurring costs for various goods/services e.g. Internal Consultant Labour Rate.
Integer: The integer parameter function is useful for integer items, for example if goods/services are incurred regularly for the same unit amount e.g. 10 Spare Tires for a trucking company every 6 months, a parameter can be formed for spare tire units.
Date: The date parameter can be used when there are a lot of moving parts in a project that all have the same timeline, it will assist with reducing the risk of mistakes and also save time
All parameters above will reduce the risk of human input error while simultaneously saving time in the capex planning process.
NOTE: Individuals can make their own parameters within a financial analysis as per the ‘How To Guide’, however Admin can make global parameters as per above.
