Data Locks

Data Locks prevent more than one user editing the same data at the same time. When a user edits data in Stratex, a lock is created which prevents other users from editing the same data. This prevents editing and workflow progression, therefore maintaining data consistency.

The system will release this lock once the user has finished editing the data and exited correctly.

The Data Lock page shows which pages are currently data locked, the user who is editing them, and allows administrators or release the lock if necessary.

Accessing the Data Lock page is done by clicking on the Utilities button under the Administration section of the left-hand navigation bar.

In exceptional cases (e.g. closing the browser without properly exiting Stratex), the system may not release the lock, or the lock may remain for a short time once the user has exited. In such situations, you can release the lock by clicking on the delete icon (round red circle with a line).
